Primary Topics

The following Topics are our what we consider our primary topics, covering the majority of content published on the platform.

Crime
NCST’s Crime coverage aims to provide the community with important information regarding the crime occurring in and around our area. From shoplifting to fast food bruhaha’s we bring to light incidents that most would never know about.

Most importantly we act to ensure that critical information about active threats to the safety of the community are highlighted and updated quickly with factual information so that everyone can make educated decisions to act for the safety of themselves and their loved ones.

Incidents like the recent man hunt in Grantville have proven to the community the importance of access to timely and credible information, something NCST is uniquely able to do for the local area.

We also work hard to obtain and publish updates on incidents after they occur. This includes updating investigations, arrests, BOLO’s, etc. The amount of information contained in these updates often require long form post in the form of articles on our website https://ncst.news. For that reason the Sponsor of the Crime Topic will also have their graphical banner displayed on all related articles posted to the website.
Fire
NCST’s Fire coverage includes incidents from structure and brush fires to letting the community know of the numerous trees and power lines that have fallen during and after weather events impact the area.

While some of these events, like power outages and trees blocking roadways, affect a large number of community members directly, even thing like structure fires and water rescues often see the community come together in providing solace and support to those directly impacted.

Our Fire topic posts serve to bring important information to the community that they often wouldn’t otherwise get.
Traffic
NCST’s Traffic Coverage provides the community with notification of incidents that are, or will be, impacting travel in the local area. This includes things like Accidents, Traffic Hazards, Congestion, and Construction among others. A point is made to ensure coverage during the morning and evening rush hours on both the surface streets and the intestate.

While it isn’t possible for us to post every incident, as the area sees more and more growth the number of traffic incidents covered by NCST continues to grow, making Traffic posts one of the most frequently posted topics across the site.

Our Traffic Coverage is also posted to our growing X account where it is often shared by multiple Atlanta area traffic sources.

NCST’s traffic coverage is the most used information provided on a day to day basis.
Weather
NCST’s Weather coverage has become a trusted staple for the community. After years of hard earned anxiety regarding severe weather, 2025 has given us a run for our money. With multiple winter weather events that left the area blanketed in record snow and cold temps, spring has brought us nearly back to back severe weather events.

With the next month being the highest risk of severe weather, quickly followed by an impending Hurricane season, NCST is here to make sure that the community gets as much information as possible to make safe and educated decisions.

Between our main Facebook Page and a nearly 25k member strong weather specific Facebook Group, weather is by far our most consumed content.

It’s also our most costly content to provide. Between the hours spent researching models and professional forecast, as well as numerous memberships to sites allowing us the latest information, it’s our Sponsors that truly allow it to happen.
Pursuit ( Yeet )
Of all the Topics that NCST covers, the Pursuit ( Yeet ) topic is probably what it’s most commonly identified with.

Our off the cuff usage of the term Yeet during our coverage of a 2022 pursuit in place of the technical term P.I.T. was well received and became the calling card of our coverage.

With I-85 running through the county bringing all types of individuals through the area, as well as providing a quick path for criminals as they attempt to escape capture following criminal activity at nearby retail locations, Coweta County sees more than it’s fair share of pursuits.

With nearly 175 pursuits by all agencies last year, and over 45 so far this year, the criminals don’t seem to be stopping their often failed attempts at escaping the law anytime soon.

While the number of posts in this topic is dependent on the number of pursuits that occur, our live play by play coverage of them are some of our most commented on and shared across the platform.

Our coverage also includes videos produced using BWC video obtained through open records from multiple agencies, as well as DOT Camera video captured by NCST and even video provided by witnesses to the pursuit. Sponsors have their graphical banner included in all videos produced during the term of their Sponsorship. These videos are the most shared content we produce, not only on Facebook, but our YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok as well.
